Your TV does not support this program’s content protection. Replacing the TV’s HDMI cable with component cables will allow you to view the program.

This is a DirecTV error message, which I have not seen in quite awhile. I know it has been discussed many times, but I was unable to find a post which covered it. I have not been onsite yet. Is there a current fix for this other than component cables?

I got this the other day as well using a balun. It's annoying because we know the issue is dtv. Had to reboot the dtv box to get it working again. It won't let you change channels or anything.

Message is written backwards.
It should say component cable is not supported and to switch to HDMI.

As others said, reboot box, may also have to force update

Started seeing this about 2 months ago, active and thinner HDMI cables compound the problem. Switch to short fat (Old School) HDMI cable.
We posted a blog on this, I am traveling this week so for more info about it contact:

Folks in the trade refer to the cable Brent is describing as "the Brent McCall" cable, by the way...

Short, fat, old school?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
