I recently installed a Roku Ultra for a client who also has a Pro Control 2.4r and ProLink.r I programmed everything and all is well....until you open Netflix. Once in the Netflix app, all cursor commands are doubled or tripled upon a button press. I tried several codes from other databases....RTI, Control4, some codes I found on RC. All behaved the same. I deleted Netflix, reloaded it, still the same. I finally gave up and left so I could stew on it.

Has anyone seen this odd issue? I just installed another Roku Ultra a few weeks ago in a system with a URC MX780/MRF350. I did not have issues that that setup. So my next step is to learn the codes from the URC database into Control4, so I can get the hex codes. Then transfer those hex codes into the Pro Control database (can you think of a better way to get hex codes into the Pro Control database without a compatible IR learner?)

It is just odd that it is only an issue when in the Netflix app. That is what stumped me. Amazon, Vudu, Pandora, YouTube, main menu, all work fine.

I haven't tried them with Pro Control but they've worked with other brands that seemed to double skip.

I've encountered the exact problem you describe, but without any consistency. It was different between identical roku boxes. One was fine, next box had repeats. Happened on different apps. The only common element was URC remotes with MRF boxes.

The solution was to alter the ir repeats in the macro window in ccp

Had the same problem with a MX-780 system. It would do multiple commands on the Roku premiere.

Tried another MX-780. Did the same thing.

What I did was just learn in the commands of the Roku remote that came with the unit into the MX-780. Only around 15 commands so it didn't take too long.
If you are going to do the job...why not do it the right way?

If changing the repeats doesn't help, try putting a "Stop Macro" (I think that's what it's called, I'm not near my computer), or a .1 second delay after the command. This was tech support's solution for me once when a random command seemed to not want to end. I can't remember what product it was for. The idea is to put something after the command to stop the echo so to speak.

The symptoms point to something other than IR repeats, or faulty codes though. What would cause the IR codes to behave differently only when navigating Netflix? I have tried the repeats at 1 and 0. The Pro Control software allowed an automatic .3 second delay after each code. I tried with and without it enabled.

I did not know you could learn from the OEM remote since it seems to be Bluetooth or some kind of RF. I will try the codes linked above and the codes learned from the one working mx780 I have done. If neither works, I will have them exchange the Roku I suppose.

What a lame problem to have. 🤕

I have the same issue. The cursor controls work fine throughout, EXCEPT Amazon and Netflix. I connected with Roku Support, and after a long discussion, where they tried to convince me it was the remote, they gave me a different answer. I believe the problem is in the Roku firmware or perhaps in the cloud.

Take the cursor commands down to zero repeats. Also, take out the .03 delays after a button is pressed.

I have had the exact same problem with MX980s and the URC Complete Control app with Rokus. Only the cursor comands, only in Netflix. Changing repeats has always solved it for me.

Just so everyone knows, this IS an issue with the Roku firmware.

The older boxes had this double code problem, the newest released boxes do NOT have this issue.
Also note: the firmware is not something you can update by clicking the software update button - that only updates the software.

I discovered this when I had an old Roku Ultra (when it 1st came out), one that I had gotten shortly after (for daughter), a customer's Roku Ultra (recently purchased), and a new Roku Ultra I just purchased the same time I got the customer's.
With all 4 boxes sitting on the desk, I powered them up and tested 1 at a time. The 2 older boxes had the repeat problem. The 2 newer boxes worked perfect with the same URC codes.

Good luck claiming a warranty issue with Roku however. I have been unsuccessful in getting them to swap the 2 older boxes with the repeat problem.

Can you update the firmware on the units?

No. I have asked tech support about that and they would not give details on the firmware (because they likely don't know).
They seem to think everything updates with the software you can update in the menu. Will I have already confirmed this to not be the case. So tech support is useless, as they seem to be unaware of anything going on with the manufacturing & engineering of the boxes.

Unfortunately that is common with consumer products these days. Whatever foreign country these boxes are designed and produced in, there is a disconnect from the tech support reading from the help text.

As long as you have a newer unit, turn off "Repeat while pressed" then set repeats to 1. It sucks because you have to hit down every-time you want to scroll down. The IP Driver form Total Control is flawless. Ihave had the problem with RTI, ProControl, On Controls, and URC (Total Control via IR, and CCP). It is a shame that this stupid thing acts like this, and is variable based on how long it has been sitting on the shelf. The Roku4 works great, and I have been buyign them off Amazon when it needs to be integrated with IR. If it is any of the new ones, it needs to be done IP, or with the Roku Remote. If you use IR, then it is just spotty.

Agreed, i use URC's IP driver personally and it works flawless. I'll test the IR and report back

Just learn the codes from the 780 directly into pro Control. Obviously make sure the 780 is set to Ir not rf, but I had to recently do that with a dish remote & a .R
Knowing that Gold went up a few K makes me think "well now I have to do a better job on selling more equipment".
