I have heard several people say that the analog picture from this box is not very good. Are they just seeing analog at it's "best"? I have a customer hooking this up to a HLN617W1 with a AVR3805. Is this a real problem? IF so is there an easy work around?

If it's not too much trouble, try hooking the cable straight through (no box) and look at the picture. Compare and contrast...

Just installed one on a 50" Fujitsu. It looked like S**T! Customer insisted on cable over satellite, as his close friend is the president of Armstrong Cable.

I just bought a CRT projection, an upgrade from a reg CRT. Hooked it up to the Motorola 6208 and have a noticeable degradation of analog channels through component cables. The direct connection through the TV's aux cable input is more clear than through the reciever. Hope I have a better picture through a HDMI; once this cable box is replaced.

Dont count on it. the ANalog to HD/Digital scaler inthe HD Cable boxes is quite posibly the worst I've ever seen. Its just plain BAD. Digital Stations look OK, HD loks Fine, Analog is crap.
Split the signal to your VCR and use the VCR for analog stations.
