Just received my first Crown amp from Snap AV. The model number is CDi 1000 Sonance Snap AV. I thought the DSP settings were custom for Episode speakers.

not sure where you see Sonance at. But, the settings internally can be set to the right Episode setting. You have to go thru the menus and select the proper setting and save it. Have you done that?

That's weird. But just look at the name of the DSP files that are on it. If they correspond to the ones in the Snap manual, you are good to go. If they don't, apparently Snap is in bed with Sonance, somebody f'ed up, and you will have to download the Snap DSP into the amp.

Is it possible that crown makes one amp with both eq profiles preloaded? Kill two birds with one sku.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

my guess is Sonance has nothing to do with Snap and Crown shipped a wrong box to Snap. Crown is used on several manufacturers sku's.

Yes, a pic would be nice. Thats a fugg up for sure.however, look at the DSP loads. Hopefully it has the Episode loads . Im guessing if it says Sonance, it does not.

Hi Slimfoot,

We are interested in the photo, could you email it to me? Thanks,

This stuff happens all the time when you catalog shop. All Snap does is have their name put on it like so many others.

Sonance has not provided that amp for their SLS for nearly 2 years. They make their own amps

Snap probably received that amp that way from Crown.

The real question is which eq presets are loaded on the amp. Need to pay close attention the config you choose matches the speakers you've installed
Chasing Ernie's post count, one useless post at a time.
