So quite a while back we received a fax from a Dewey, Cheatem & Howe class action law firm that had an action against a prolific junk fax syndicate.

We get quite a few junk faxes so I had someone complete the form and fax it back to the law firm.

Usually, any consumer in a settlement like this might be a $1.00 or less. Today, we received a check for $41.75.

I'm sure the law firm made plenty, but today lunch is on the junk fax syndicate!

I never cheer on a law firm, but I do hope they can track down the relentless credit card scammers that hit all of our phones. I would not mind seeing a MOAB hitting one of these call centers.

I got a nice class action check once for the composite shingles/roof the former owner had put on, now, my house. (Luckily he moved across the street and gave me the forms.) My roof was in ok shape but I guess farther south the composite shingles were basically falling apart! I did end up replacing it with a hail proof shingle. I had no problem taking the money!

I'd love to get a check from "Computer support center" who keeps calling to tell me that my computer is causing problems on the Internet. ("Get in front of your computer NOW.")

Your part was so large because you are one of only 12 people that still have fax machines.

Got 600 from Apple once for the class action on the moisture sensor. I average about 350 a year from class actions. Amazing how many there are if you google it for everyday products.

About a month ago i got a check from lexis nexis for $395 and change. Class action check for a suit i didn't even know i was involved in. While participating at a "improve your credit score" forum about 5 years ago, i learned that once a year you could go do a background check on yourself for free. I don't even remember why it was suggested. Maybe something to do with checking to see if your identity has been stolen...who knows. All i know is that i deposited the check and it cleared so it was legit.

My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

It was like Woodruff, or something that sounds like 'woodroof'. It was a composite wood product that was 'formed' into a wood shingle look but each on was maybe 2 ft by 2 ft or something like that, so I think part of it was they installed really quick. They really did look fine, in theory. I really only saw them on my house and never anywhere else. I think where they were in the shade and had a lot of water, they sort of fell apart.

Although you have to appreciate the "hands free" aspect of the product!

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Pretty typical on class action suits. Cost more to print and mail than the $.01

The law firm needs to show some activity in order to justify their fee.
