Lutron.

If I could only do Shades and Lighting, really just shades, I would personally show up at every companies headquarters in the AV and Networking industries and give them double birds for 8 consecutive hours. I would have plenty of money to book flights all over the world to accomplish this.

Low voltage shades should be the usual Cresnet/Lutron/whatever standard wiring which is 18/2 + 22/2 shielded. Lutron has other variants including a 16/2 and 12/2 power pair version (Crestron also has Cresnet HP which also 12/2). Covers you on all bases, wireless or wired.

Lutron RA shades are just D batteries and a RA system, or pico remote to prewire needed

Conduit is the only sure way to cover your bases if you don't know what MFG will be installed.
Even then, you sorta need to know it it's going to left (most popular) or right side of the shade.

Not quite, since RA supports ALL of Lutron's shading products, the vast majority of which are NOT battery powered.

Just depends on the length. You're good at 18 up to about 125ft.
