It sounds like you had a defective iPhone 7 because that is definitely not normal. Everyone has their own opinion but I really can't see how a phone milled from a solid block of aluminum could feel cheap? There is definitely no "flex" to my 7 Plus.

I doubt the phone I had somehow was milled from different material than every other phone out here. Mine was also a plus model. By comparison, the Note7 felt like a completely more solid phone. By feel alone, it just felt much better. Performance was also much better in my experiences.

I am a huge Apple fan, but I never liked the feel of the 6 / 7 myself. Used it for a while and just bought a 128GB iPhone SE. I like the smaller form factor and iPhone 5 body much better than the current designs.

The SE is basically a 6S inside with 4K video, touch ID, etc... but no 3D touch, which I don't like anyways. $499 and worth every penny.

I never got the allure of upgrading to the newest phone, other than maybe for the camera or video recording quality.

My 6S is about as far as I want to go. Like it so much better than my daughter's 7. I plan on keeping it until the newest software won't load meaning apps I use won't work.

Also, the google play store is a great place to have your credit card stolen because google lets the app developers process their own charges. So when you click buy on that $.99 fart app, some guy in a former soviet block country, where 90% of identity theft originates, gets your card info and billing address.

lol no they dont

The fact is Android is not as secure and does not provide a consistent user experience. The fact that most Android devices do not receive timely security updates is a huge problem.

Normal people want a phone that just works. They don't want to fiddle around with things and tweak this and that. You can call me an Apple fanboy but iOS is simply a better experience in just about every respect and the more I hear about the security advantages of iOS and the deficiencies of Android the more I like my iPhone.

Samsung software is terrible. Their implantation of Android is terrible

I only know one person that is a hardcore Android guy and he is a geek. He has a Pixel and likes it but he even admits that my iPhone 7 Plus is more refined and operates smoother without the need to be regularly rebooted.

I highlighted parts of your convo.

Saying Android is not secure is really stupid. Android as a whole is very secure. I agree with the consistent user interface to a degree. Google has done an amazing job with the Nexus program and now Pixel program. Cell phone makers like LG are not changing the OS too much either. In reality Samsung is the one who started this take android and destroy it theme.

A Google Pixel Vs the latest iphone destroys your entire concept of saying android requires tons of tweaks. A Pixel "just works" iOS is terrible. A simple task like signing onto to wifi requires you to go into settings. That isnt intuitive what so ever! You are an apple fan boy. Android slaughters iOS at so many simple tasks, notifications, and general usages on the phone.

Samsung is terrible. Their phones are the worst example of android on the market. Its googles fault for not reining them in some how.

I have owned a few iphones. I even tired the 6 plus not that long ago. I replaced it with the Nexus phone. Much Much better!

BTW speaking of staying up to date the Nexus and Pixels get regular software updates. I have NEVER had to reboot my phone because it crashed. Apple will update and fix patches when they feel like it or when they do an OS update.

Phones are all subjective but many of your comments are because you are a fanboy.

The 6 and 7 iPhone's and the OS are things that Steve Jobs would have fired people over. Apple wrote the rule book on good UI and then tossed it in the trash after Jobs died. Is it text? A link? A button? Who freaking knows because there are no rules now. I have a 6 with a broken screen because i wont pay $700 for another iPhone because they aren't worth it. When the next one comes out there better be a carrier who subsidizes it or im getting the free windows phone my brother got from Cricket Wireless that blows the iPhone away.

I almost wonder if your iPhone had a hardware issue. I got my iPhone 7 as soon as I could, and have no regrets. So far I've had the haptics stop working once, and screen rotation stop working twice. All three times required a reboot to fix. So far I've had no other lockups, however I did have to reset iCloud photo sharing once to get it working again.

And yes, Apple stuff has bugs. There's no 2 ways about it. I've even found easily reproducible bugs in the initial registration process. But I shudder when my friend has problems with her Android phone and I have to help, because I really hate using that thing. It feels like a total mess.

Now, I'm no Apple fanboy - in fact I was totally anti-Apple until I got my first Apple product, an iPhone 4S. Now, I think they do mobile devices well - love the integration between an iPhone and iPad. Yes, innovation at Apple is dead, but the competition isn't wowing me there either.

But I'd honestly rather use a Windows Phone than Android!

Saying Apple is for the masses is sort of silly, isn't it? With close to 90% Android market share, your comment almost makes no sense at all.

I stay in a lot of hotel / motels in my job and whenever you look at the free WiFi (do you feel lucky, punk?) it's 70% iPhones / tablets and the remainder are Samsung's. I remember seeing at least 2 Windows phones over the years...
Maybe if I was staying in youth hostels it may be different? Either way, 'in the real world' the numbers of Android phones actually being used (and not just shipped to retailers to sit on the shelf) is far smaller than the above stat shows.
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

Wouldn't it be easier for you guys to just re-read the last five Apple versus android threads, and leave it at that? Or do you just like to hear yourselves talk?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

The numbers count every android phone. A real/useful list would be to wrangle up a short list of the top end android phones. I read an article that said the pixel was projected to sell 3 million devices last year. iPhone 6 sold 10 million in its first weekend. Remember the Note7? I read an article where Samsung claimed they sold 2.5 million worldwide by the time they recalled them.

Obviously if you count all the cricket/boost android phones and the pay as you go's and the "free" phones from other providers...yeah...android probably dominates the market. But if you just count the phones that people actually want then Apple beats them hands down.

Some do for sure. We all got new 6S's when we moved from AT&T to Verizon. My daughter's 6S was junk. Battery life was horrible and it would lock up almost weekly. Neither mine nor my wife's showed any of these issues. So we decided to let her get a 7.

But when I took her to the Verizon store I had the sales girl, and she got a kick out of this, bring out 3 phones and let my daughter pick the box so if this one was bad she's the one who picked it. LOL.

Much more stable phone, I just don't like the haptic "button".

Mine was a 7+ and it was junk, so the 7's are not immune

This thread is actually about Tizen, and not an Apple / Android flame war... and Tizen is terrible. Has nothing to do with Android.
