MPEG4 isn't what I was talking about, as the newer TiVo boxes can handle MPEG4 decoding.
IP delivery negates the need for a cablecard, and currently, TiVo cannot operate on a cable system without a cablecard.
It's not to Comcast's advantage to continue to allow TiVo to operate on its systems. Comcast charges fees for every single box on every single TV. They even plan to charge a rumored $7.95 for each Comcast app running on a Roku. TiVo doesn't charge fees for their Mini's and it's lost revenue for Comcast.
