they've figured out a solution for racketeering and vandalism too. new bill passed lets enforcers to use drones. time thugs smarten up and use drones for bank heist. :D

about the piracy bill in the op, without taking left or right side, i'd say it has a good thing and a bad to it. the good is, just to cite an example, isps like verizon and at&t will have all the data and they'll be able to optimize the route so uses get optimized, lagless connections. how cool is that? the bad, there'll be no obligations on them to preserve or protect user data. not even the moral ones. the only way around will be to involve a third party in-between and use privacy tools like ivacy, tor, and anti-spyware. even then, privacy providers registered and operating in US will be bound by their laws to keep a log and provide whenever required or demanded... or face the consequences

Congress needs a boot up the ass, then we need to rip their arms off and beat them over the head with them. Once that's done, we need to move up the food chain (or down, depending on view).

If congress is so bad, why does the American public reelect them at over a 98% rate? Put the blame where it belongs. This is a democracy. The voters are responsible for who gets elected.

At the polls we often have a binary choice -- bad and worse. And, Gerrymandering can dilute the results in any case. The only solution is to become more involved and dilute the effects of the big, well funded, highly motivated lobby groups.
