Corrected for Ernie and the other guy.
1 Elderly white American male neighbor asked for my assistance in setting up his Roku.
2 Turn on the TV and the Roku home screen has Fu.k you on the screen. Left c out. Hope understand why.
Do not install many of these, I assume you can create a device name. Fu.k you being that name.
3 proceed to Netflix. Elderly neighbor does not have a Netflix account. No worries since the person that returned it to Walmart did not reset device and left Netflix active.
4 Thought it was rather funny and decided to share.
5 Fu.king simple enough? Or do we need a model and serial number for elderly white American male, Roku player, Walmart store number and zip code?

Could you do that again in English?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I couldn't really follow it either.

I THINK he had a previously used/returned box but I'm not sure,

Since these can be controlled via a smart phone app, it's necessary to name the Roku because the user will almost never remember the device's number, so calling it Living Room, Bedroom, Chamber of Death & Torture is a good idea. This example, not so much. Wally World needs to do something about returns. Was this sold as new, or open box?

Don't get pissed at Ernie. Your original post was impossible to follow.

I understood the original story, and the revised one. It made me chuckle. Mission accomplished.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to return a Roku, unless their only wifi is two floors up and in other corner of house and customer thinks the unit just sucks

This went over everyone's heads here. Ernie asked 'redfish to help setup his own personal Roku.

I told a customer to return the roku stick that he bought because I couldn't make his smart remote control it. He took it back for one that has ir control

Indeed a good reason to return one. These guys around here jail breaking the Fire Sticks and giving them to my customers are driving me up the wall. One instance led to me firing one client. He was never anything very special to begin with, but he wanted to drop cable and use only jail broken Fire sticks and off air antenna. I hooked them up for him and told him his control system is pretty much useless now. Didn't even charge for all of my time and he whined anyway so I said buh bye.

Don't you just love customers? I have more than a few like him.

My uncle bought a couple kodi boxes from some guy. They aren't Amazon fires, they are some other android device. He gave me a big spill how the guy explained that it's all perfectly legal and fine. According to my wife, he paid $500 for each one. I laughed hysterically when she told me that.
