I'm trying to make this work in my home. I tried the IR hex codes listed for the CS-HDM5X1SW, but couldn't get them to work. I assume I have the correct codes and something else is wrong, but would like to know that before trying to troubleshoot.

Call Brent.  He had the wrong codes on the web site for their CS-HDM3X1SW and had to redo them for me about six months ago for a Crestron project I had going at the time.  I'd bet he had the same problem for the CS-HDM5X1SW so he'll need to redo those too.

Hmmm, right now I only need two inputs. I wonder if the HDM3 would work.

I hate to call him on the weekend.

The IR codes for the 3X1 are correct on their web site.  I know because he changed them after he fixed it for me.

Send me a PM with your e-mail address over on IP or ESI and I'll send you what he sent to me (Crestron IR file).  (I don't do PM on RC)

Thanks for the follow up guys.
I have been on the road for the past two weeks and the PC with those codes is at the office.

Brent, would the ones posted for the CS-HDM3X1SW be correct? And would they work for the first 3 inputs? That's all I need for now

I couldn't get those to work either. Could the CS-HDM5X1SW3 use different codes? Or do I need to fix something on my side?

Are you using the little IR receiver that comes with the unit?  If not, you need to.  Hot glue your emitter to the IR receiver thingy.

The IR receiver is on the front of the switch, like most devices

Haven't held the 5x1 so I can't say, but the 3x1 does not have an IR receiver on it.  You have to use the IR receiver dongle that comes with it.

Edit - I just looked at it on the Ethereal web site.  Hate to tell you, but there is no built in IR receiver.  You have to use the dongle that plugs into the 3.5mm jack labled IR.

Hate to tell you, but it's right on the front, in the middle, with a label that says IR. Also, if you look on the back there is no place for a dongle

And if you look at the product manual, it clearly shows in detail where the IR receiver is located, and it shows all items that come in the box with the switch, and an IR dongle is not on the list.

I'll now restrain myself from saying anything else.

Ah - I see the problem.  Not to go all Ernie on you but there are two different switches.  In your original post you said you have the CS-HDM5X1SW which is not the same as the CS-HDM5X1SW3!

I was going by that, even though you had SW3 as the title of the thread.
