I have a new client that's hired me to relocate a TV she recently purchased from HHGregg to the wall above her fireplace. This Samsung has the [ridiculous] outboard connection module.

Are there longer, in-wall-rated, proprietary media cables for these televisions or do I have to figure out how to stow the external input module behind the wall-mounted display and run multiple HDMI's as per normal?

Experience appreciated.

The box is small & thin, most areas behind the TV will not even cause any extra depth. So the question I would ask: why wouldn't you just slap it to the back of the TV and treat it like any other. I usually use a dot of velcro, it doesn't take much to keep it in place.

Or one cable and an HDMI switch.

Yup--That's the plan, but wanted to know if there was an option.

This all begs the question: Why the hell did Sammy externalize the inputs? Was all of this just to offer an "upgrade path" for non-HDCP 2.2 compliant inputs sold on 4K televisions during the chipset transition?

I think it was so they could advertise how thin the TV is "as pictured" in ads. And ads never show wires.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
