Using a USB cable that is. Didn't realize this until trying to do phone support for a customer. Customer owns RX-A750 which does support iPod via USB, my RX-A760 does not. Thought I would pass this on, in case some one else encounters this issue.

This is not too different from complaining that you can't use component video for all your video. Time marches on and 'features' that we want or don't want are changed... then when we buy the product because it's all that's available, we're told that we wanted it.

Reminds me of a Spike Jones record in which a kid is bothering a carnival barker. To try to get the kid to go away, the guy says, "Go tell your mother she wants ya."

Actually, thanks. This kind of change is usually discovered when something doesn't work.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

So throw a cheap wifi router in just for streaming from phone to receiver.

I don't think it will work because he's trying to stream pandora from the phone.

Create a 'wireless direct' network and play it that way?
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

Me, too, because it'd be pretty funny for you to be quoting me. I mean, how could you bring yourself to do that?

What are you trying to play?

Does anyone even know what this AVR can do?

MusicCast
Bluetooth
AirPlay

What else do you want before reading the manual (on CD)?

There's not much reason to tether an iPhone to an AVR at this point.

If they have music saved on the phone, just install a router and connect the AVR- the fact that it's not connected to the internet only matters if they want to stream content from the internet- the phone will stream to it via WiFi. I would recommend installing the MusicCast app on the phone for this.

Is this a remote location or a matter of how the house was built?
