I recently started having an issue with the Sony TV blacking out and sometimes losing audio .

My Sony XBR75x850d will lose its video and sometimes the audio. The screen will flash from black then to a good picture.

The screen will display a Direct Tv code 900 and tell me that it's advised that I install component video cables. ( That's not going to happen )

1. Sony XBR75x850d
2. 65 feet of Ethereal CAT6
3. Key Digital Balun KD-CATHD250 Lite set
4. Ethereal MHX-HDME1 2 total 1 meter HDMI cables
5. Direct Tv box

This is a super easy install with no complicated parts. What concerns me is that I have several of these equipment combinations installed. My software updates have been done with Direct Tv and Sony.

And good advice would be appreciated.

I've had this happen and there is something in the settings. It was a while ago and I can't remember what we did to fix it. I believe it has to do with the DTV receiver thinking the balun is trying to decode or record the HD protected signal. Sorry can't be more specific.
