Deployed my personal jap system yesterday. Just went into my xfinity settings and it will not let me output Dolby Surround. Auto Detects Stereo. same thing on PS4

I have 2G+ Transmitter/Receivers
Marantz 7701 Pre-Amp Connected to Sony KDL55X850c

Xfinity looped out from transmitter to Marantz 7701 same with PS4
2g+ receiver connected to KDLX350C

Cisco SG300-10

this isnt my first jap system and others haven't seemed to have this issue (verified)

My guess is its pulling the EDID from my Bedroom 350c TV

I have tried to log into my transmitters/receivers and cannot, not sure if I have my vlan setup correctly on the araknis router im testing (first time deploying a JAP system with Araknis) However control via C4 works fine so something must not be quite right.

any thoughts?

Yeah: Audio/video, where the hell did you go? What is this in your place?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Of course not! Why would he put his "personal" system in a house where he lives?

Did you setup a static route ??? You need to setup the static route on the router to access the JAP devices. The info you need is near the top of the JAD config output. If you didn't save it..

Network: JAP IP scheme
Subnet: same as above
Gateway: switch ip
Metric: 2

No, I din't mean "the poster's room" by "your place." I meant "audio/video, what is this stuff we're dealing with today that has so little to do with audio and video? [that is, Audio/video, where the hell did you go?] What is all this technical stuff that's unrelated to audio and unrelated to video that we have to suffer with just to watch The Friggin' Bachelor?

See?

That's one of the least specific questions I have ever read.

Are you plugging into the SG and setting your pc static to the JAP recommended settings (~169.254.x.x)? If so- Bonjour is not seeing them? I recall issues with Sony displays on older firmware (3.x.x)...

That is for when devices have not been assigned a static IP via JAD Config. In his case he needs to setup the static route.

The standard EDID for the J+P2g+ is PCM. I usually use the AVP piece, because of this issue. I have also found that the Roku will output 2ch PCM, even on the Toslink when connected to a 2g transmitter. I have one in a system where we took the HDMI to the J+P System, then Toslink to an AVR. There are no settings in the roku to change it....all done by EDID. If we disconnect the J+P, the ROku outputs DD through toslink. I assume you are having the same problem. Might want to try the AVP piece. Also, may need to change the EDID settings in the Tx. To do this you will need to setup a static route in the Araknis.

Thanks Guys!

It's weird because I've always checked this out and also have been able to change settings so I know there is something goofy with my araknis network. Mike- are you saying 2G+ doesn't support Dolby? Or just not natively? I've always chosen the EDID I wanted and it would pass. On JAPS site they show the 2G+ being able to pass Dolby and DTS and have verified on jobs that it is indeed passing it!

control works fine just can't access anything. Does anyone have instructions on how to make a static route with araknis?
