SnapAV and Liberty connectors are garbage. I can do them but none of my techs can do them reliably. Losing lots of time and money on these. Anyone have some rock solid ones that are easy for normal people to terminate?
In my 500 plus CAT5 connections done. I used for the most part one brand. But upon changing brands or whatever, my connections went to shit. I couldn't figure out why until I looked through the side. I could see that the area where the jacket goes in is very different compared what I was use to. Originally when I had made tons of successful ends. I was cutting the wires so that they were about 1/3" from the jacket. Then the brand changed and I had to adjust accordingly, either expose more or less. I forget which way.
So perhaps looking at how much wire is needed to be exposed from the jacket is needed for a solid connection. Then once you figure out which brand your guys are comfortable with. Continue to purchase that brand. Hopefully it's the cheaper. But if it's one that cost more money at purchase. Just think of it this way, all the money you'll be saving. Not only in man time. But parts cost of all those screwed up ends that needs to be replaced.
