What he is doing is:
JAP receiver feeding to TV to feed video to TV directly
JAP receiver feeding to an input on AVR to feed
audio into AVR of all sources
JAP transmitter connected to monitor out of AVR to
feed the AVR on screen display into JAP system
To display on the TV.
So no feed directly from AVR to TV. All through JAP
At that point you are better off feeding the video right from the AVR. If as Blackwire says there is no lip sync/ delay issues this way, you can save the $$ of the JAP tx component by eliminating the:
"JAP transmitter connected to monitor out of AVR"
The AVR's monitor out would just be needed at initial setup of the AVR in the room and could be accomplished by temp disconnecting one of the JAP tx connected to a source components and then hooking up a temp HDMI from AVR monitor out.
