Im not the computer guru some of you are. Here is my issue:

My son plays minecraft on my wife's windows 8 machine. Was working fine for months. All of a sudden the game disappeared while it was open.
Close and re-open and the icon for the game is down in the tray but game is not on the screen. If you click the icon the game will "travel" from the bottom tray icon in like a split second to the top of the screen and disappear.

Deleted the old and reinstalled, same problem.

What what??

Well, my wife commented that she hates Win 8, so this may be a solution.
Thanks, i'll look into it.

Hit "Windows + P" and select PC Screen Only

Your computer may think there's a second/extended monitor that the game is going to.

If that doesnt do it, you can try moving the window around manually

Uh-oh. Probably shouldn't ask but I can't help it, lol.
What's the "every other" rule?

Only use every OTHER version of windows:

Windows 98: Good
Windows ME: Bad
Windows XP: Good
Windows Vista: Bad
Windows 7: Good
Windows 8: Bad
Windows 10: Good
