Any CIs here regularly/recently do Sharp TV installs with an IR remote system? We typically do Samsung, but have a conf room situation where only a 1080p set is needed, and all of Sammy's 1080p sets max out at 2 HDMI ports (we need 3!).

So I'm considering the Sharp LC-50LB481U 1080p smart (w/Roku!) TV; has the desired 3 HDMI inputs, but I've no experience with support for discrete IR on this model.

Any feedback appreciated!

Used to do a lot of Sharp installs for another dealer without problems. Found Sharp discretes always worked. It's been a while but I would hope they're still good....

Thanks - fwiw in the URC Complete Control DB I found a Sharp "discrete 2007" setup #555 that contains on/off and inputs 1-8, as well as a model "LC-50LB371u" setup #692 that contains same ... so fingers x'd these are legit and it'll work with the LC-50LB481U display.

Eff, but I hate leaving things even partially to chance in this business.

Sharp bailed on the us tv market back in 2015. Hisence now licenses the sharp name in the us. Best Buy has a "house" line of tv's using the sharp name, no idea if these are also Hisense Tv's.

I wouldn't bet too much on discrete codes working on recent sharp tv models. If it's a tv available at retail, I'd say you should go to a store displaying the tv and test your codes.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

Buy a Samsung with 3 inputs and be done. Adopting Sharp at this point would be the last thing I would consider. Sony? LG?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

had to use codes from a few different codesets, but ultimately found discrete power and inputs in the URC codesets. /phew
