whats the best way to program this? i know there are more then a few ways I could do this. I plan on using the relay instead of the IR driver (unless IR is easier)
im thinking "Room Off" "send relay down command" watch (various sources) Send relay up command" for each source then the "4" button "send relay up command"
is this the easiest and best way todo this?
TIA

I program it off the TV power. Only 2 things to program no matter how many sources you have.
When TV is powered on, lift up When TV is powered off, lift down
You could also trigger the up on a Video Selection Change, but if off is considered a change, you'd run into issues.

Not sure what options you have with Control4 but I would do as hdsystems said and base it on TV status. Then I would add a button to control it manually should the client for some reason require it.

As already suggested, I usually base lifts on television power and also create a manual up & down. These are usually hidden or press & hold type buttons so not necessarily something the client has access to, but they're useful for service and troubleshooting.

If it's a bedroom, ask about tying to room off. Might wake their sleeping partner.

Good point. I've had the request from two clients for a way to turn off the TV without retracting the lift mechanism in bedrooms.
My solution was a 2-step process for system off. Pressing system off turns off the TV & audio and then brings up another page on the remote with options to close the lift or leave it open.
