Just wondering, if you could only go to one, which one would it be?

trying to decide if im going to San Diego or just save the money and go to ISE next year. Seems its basically the same show, maybe even a little more geared to CI's then Cedia?

aside from seeing all you guys at cedia (which is also something to think about) maybe its worth going to ISE from now on?

I have been looking through all the video coverage on rAVe, and although I am sure they did not cover EVERY thing, there is a TON of stuff on their YouTube channel, and most of it is from manufacturers that I have never heard of, and likely not even distributed to the USA. It seems like a Euro-CEDIA if you ask me.

But the trip would be better for sure! Do it!

You want to skip the new Cedia? But why would you ever consider that? Lol

Maybe I'll fly one way to CEDIA, buy a old car, and do a road trip back to the east coast...

I had a blast on the road trip from Seattle back to NC back in September, so this IS an option....

Let's be real, how much value do you really take away from these shows that you can't learn via cutsheets, websites, and sales rep demos in your own territory? My point? Go to the one with the best parties or the city you'd like to visit most.

Having lived in the Netherlands, Amsterdam is the way to go! Probably the most multi-cultural city I've ever been in. Good times, GO!

If you have not been to Amsterdam, it needs to be on your bucket list. Its a must. Lived there for about a year when I took my mid life crisis sabbatical, at age 30!

Yes! There is much that we will never see in the US. And Yes, it is not the cheapest town in the world. But, Amsterdam is a great city, the RAI is a good venue and the show is a lot of fun.
Go to Amsterdam.

I can recommend an inexpensive houseboat you can rent for a week, if you do decide to go.

Take your gal pal and enjoy. It's a great place to visit.

Maybe extend your time by a bit and take the high speed rail to Paris for a few days too.

Got your passport in order?

No contest there. If there must be one, then CEDIA is it. All of the new products come out of CEDIA (and CES) and all of your important vendor contacts are there.

Important trends in residential integration are found at CEDIA, not ISE.

You want to talk to Amazon, Sonos, Nest and such? You won't see them at ISE. None of your distributors are there. You won't find your local reps there. The Europeans manning the booths (stands) won't be trying to win your business for the most part.

Because European distributors are so strong, many US mfrs rely on them and don't bring the team that matters most for US dealers.

Plus: Amsterdam in February (blechy) or San Diego in September?

Duh.
