There's a lot of Charlotte love on this thread...

There are actually plenty of good places to eat in Charlotte, as there would be in any city of reasonable size. You just have to know where to look. Or, at least there are in the burbs to the south of Charlotte (and Pineville) which is as far as I ever go. Our extended family does an eat out once a month, so I've been to a lot of places in that area that I'd never have known about (each person picks in turn, and a couple of them work in the food distr business so they know all kinds of places.)

You could rent a really loud, jacked up four wheel drive truck and run screaming up and down the road in front of my place. That seems like a really popular activity.

There's a lot of bad very over priced places to eat too. But one of my favorite restaurants is Dish.

Shall I bring my truck? Where do I burn some rubber?

Let me get my IEDs planted first, then I'll send you the coordinates. I'm not sure if I want to use Z-Wave or Zigbee IEDs. Cost is an issue since I'm going to be blowing them up, but of course reliability is also an issue.

Simon,

You should get in contact with Tommy Edison. He has an YT channel and has been blind from birth. He is actually a movie critic for the blind too.

His YT channel. /about

Heck, he might even be there in NC. I know that he lives here in Connecticut, but travels a lot.

Thanks for the suggestion KOT. But when i refer to the blind industry, i don't mean products or services for the blind. I mean the roller blind, awning and shutter industry.

Sorry for any confusion, maybe i could have been clearer about that.

Well folks, those that have bagged the food in Charlotte have been on the money so far. Everything I have had so far has been rubbish. I'll look up main 131 and the other suggestions and see if any are close to where I'm staying.

On a side note, everybody I speak to asks how your president is perceived in Australia. Literally everyone. Hotel staff, uber drivers, Hooters girls and manager, Harley dealership staff, whiskey bar staff, everyone. It's like Oh your Australian, tell me, what do Aussies think of........

Hooters has decent wings, and generally damn fine looking gals working there, but nothing else...

Three hours away, at the beach, where there is some excellent, and fresh seafood joints.

Come on down....

Dont take that as we care what the world thinks. Take it as we are arrogant pompous self centered individuals, and just want you to really talk about us.

I don't know what section you are in, because traffic can be a bitch to get around. But three good recommendations, Dish for good American Homestyle foods. I would skip my kid's birthday for their meatloaf. Next, Pinkys Westside Grill. The place used to be an old VW mechanics shop. Don't really know how to describe it other than eclectic. All the wait staff are tatted up and pierced everywhere, the building is a dive, but the food is great. It's my son's favorite. 3rd choice is Cabo Fish Taco. It's located in Noda, a recently revamped and kind of trendy neighborhood with at least one microbrewery and usually live music.

131 is very good, but it's also a bit stuffy and pricy.

And don't forget that Hooters nickels and dimes you to death. The celery and blue cheese for the wings are both extra charges.

I'm sitting in Dish as i type this. Not bad Fins. Good suggestion for a cheap and cheerful place. Just starting the chocolate and pecan pie.

I went to hooters for a snack yesterday. Bit of a stitch up.
