Has anyone ever used a basic VGA to HDMI converter?

I have a CCTV DVR that only has SVGA out.
My JAP A/V distribution system is obviously HDMI only.

I don't need audio, just video.

Here is one I found with quick Googling but didn't know if there were any gotchas to contend with: [Link: amazon.com]

Monoswitch has one, too.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Kevin, they do?
What's the model number?
Will it work on rest of my HDMI TVs?

I'm going to look into something basic. At the price that those go for, I can get a newer, more powerful DVR with HDMI built in.

I searched for that name but didn't come up with anything.
Any direct links or model numbers?
