T3X remote, installed in November, couldn't connect, called tech support, "sounds like it has to come back", arrange through AVAD, took almost 4 weeks to replace.

New remote screen goes black, tech support, "you can't push hard on it or it can break", arrange RMA.

Next remote through RTI doesn't make it on the truck until I call 10 days later asem king where it was.

Spent 3 hours last night, an hour this morning, cant connect to it. I can update firmware, just can't connect like the first one.

Pulling the battery, going there anyway, hoping for a bad charging base.

About to give them a fair price on a C4 System just to get the F away from RTI right now. This project is 8 years old, moved from the old house because he liked his T2Cs, which are still solid, new XP8, and nothing but a pain with the software and new devices.

Out the door to get my ass kicked.

We ejected from RTI about a year ago. Life is so much better. Have a good sized RTI job that we just serviced and I am tempted to just rip RTI out and put Elan in at our cost just so I dont have to deal with RTI on this system anymore.

I called back this morning, tech support wouldn't do anything other than send a USB trouble shooting guide and said to call back if it didn't work.

We have a customer that in two houses had close to 24 TC2's. Before we pulled everything and replaced the B&K systems with Elan, it got to where all I could do was look at him and say, "I know, I'm sorry. "

Meanwhile...Some of us have rock solid RTI systems that run for months and/or years with nary a reboot. Odd.

You don't know what a T2C is, do you.

I had a RTI system run for an entire 5 hours once. Then the remote rebooted itself, 8 times that day. Brand new remote. No replacements, their "fix" was to load a new firmware on it. For this, i had to send the remote back as they would not let me load the firmwarw on site. I was out shipping costs, client was without a remote, and I looked bad as the new expensive system I sold was inoperable for the most part.

Client now has a heavily discounted TC system and loves it.

Yup. I transitioned to RTI in 2009 after URC left me high-and-dry on an out-of-state job. I'm aware that there was a [really] bad run of T2C's that suffered failures caused by ROHS-compliance-forced lead-free solder manufacturing. Since then, however, there have been few widespread quality issues and where there were any, RTI stood behind the product and/or worked to provide beta firmware fixes, etc.

As an example, RTI produced a run of XP-6 and PCM-8's with defective MPIO ports that failed within 1-2 years. In every case, even when beyond warranty, RTI replaced the units at no charge.

Was that scenario a painful, PITA...? Yes. But they took care of it and continue to provide a product with phenomenal bang-for-buck ratio, IMHO.

I know you don't want to waste the time dealing with their problem, but get the name(s) of anyone in tech support who won't/isn't helpful and crawl up the food chain.

The FNG says he's an engineer who solves problems- make him do that.

This system has been very solid except for the file getting corrupted once. You be spent 12 hours dealing with this remote, no longer amused.

I use the APP, sidekick and T1-B+ remote exclusively with XP6, XP3 and XP8.
All works as it should.
The same could be said of some crestron touch screen remotes for 2-3x the price with their infinetf$ck gateway..
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

I don't do the amount of RTI some of you do.

But it's my RTI causes me the least amount of headaches. Compared to savant and control 4
