So, I was going to get one of the Araknis AN-300 router to try in my place, now that they've been out a while. Just wanted to get some feedback from those that have/ are using them.
Pros, cons, set up,reliability, etc. ?????
I've been using the Edge Lite for most installs, they fit our jobs fine and have been reliable. We've been using OVRC, so that'd be a plus if it'll give some remote troubleshooting information. etc.

We use them exclusively. Ovrc , the hub and all the switches and APs. Seems to work better than any other combination or brand we have used. Support is good and the remote information is incredible.

Love it. I'd use it over the edge light any day. It's much easier to work with in my opinion.

My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

I have had one in my own home since August of 2015, no issues.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I'll get one to try out. Any quirks to look out for? Can I assume it has most features needed by a CI (mac reservations, etc.)? The OVRC feature is one thing I do like about it!!

They need to improve the firewall throughput. Has half the WAN>LAN throughput of an ERLite-3. More than half of our clients that purchase networking solutions from us have gigabit ISP connections, so the AN-300 is a no go.

I use it exclusively except for large commercial clients. I even use the dual WAN to set up fail over and in some cases load balancing. With OVRC it's a breeze to manage and push updates.

My clients speeds are typically 100mbps- 350mbps so I don't think that should be a problem. I'd hope Araknis would be upgrading the line to be able to handle the speeds you're talking about, ISP's are only gonna get faster.

Can their routers and access points create a seamless roaming network?

No, real money will need to be spent for that.

If you've ever used Engenius these will be a piece of cake for you as they have the exact same interface.

Based on a conversation one of our guys had with Snap they know it is an issue and have it on their roadmap. No date set at this time, just an acknowledgment that it is a known issue and they plan to deal with it.

That's too bad. Months ago they told me they were working on un update for seamless roaming. With the up and coming consumer seamless wifi systems network companies will have to do a bit better in the $500 range.

Seamless roaming gets brought up a lot. But in the real world, is this REALLY an issue? Just asking. Ive never noticed it being a problem in my own home, or anywhere else for that matter. Just curious!

It's a serious issue in a lot of homes with multiple access points. Devices simply don't transition smoothly from one to the other. They will latch on to an antenna even they get closer to another.
