I have a few Sony xbr TV's with Android that I want to turn on to a default input. I can't figure how to do it. The problem is when the TV is powered off for a few days or if the power is reset, the TV defaults to the home screen, where it shows you the apps and inputs. Then you have to choose the input you want. Does anybody know of a way to make it stay on a HDMI input.

You can't set a default.
You can set which input the "TV" button on the remote will go to.

I thought I read somewhere to stay on input rather than return to guide was based off a setting under power...but can't recall.

Thanks. I went to the power menu but all it shows is a eco setting, where you can set it to auto turn off and such. I tried to see if there was a hotel mode like Samsung has but I couldn't find anything.

Talk to your sony rep about Pro/Hotel Mode. You can lock any sony TV onto any input and disable all the aps if need be.

Did you ever go into settings and under "External Inputs" set the "TV Input" to the HDMI port you want? If memory serves me correctly, I think the set defaults to the home screen, if power is lost, and the "TV Input" is not set. I'd have to check the next time I install one.

Personally, I have never had this issue. I have 2 of these sets myself using no control system. Just Tivo Mini hooked up to HDMI 1 on an 850C and HDMI2 on a 850D. Have had power outages and never once has the TV come back on to the "home" screen. I would also hear screaming, since the factory remotes are not in the room.

I actually just tested this out just now on my 850D by powering off the breaker and then powering it back on after a min.
-I powered off the set while on HDMI2 (TV Input). When powered on TV came back on to HDMI2.
-Pressed the "Home" button, to get the app screen, then powered off the set again. When powered up came back on to HDMI2.
-Then tried, switching input to HDMI3 and powered off. Came back on to HDMI3.

I also checked my Eco settings. Power saving is off, Idle TV standby is 24h, Auto Shutoff is ON. Looked through the other options and don't see anything else that would relate. Figure its not a Braviasync/ARC issue since its only an issue when the set looses power.

These TV's aren't hooked up to the control system. Just a cable box hooked up to the TV and using the cable remote. We have Rti controlling most of the TV's and its set to turn the TV to the right input when it powers on.

I'm not sure if I checked in there. I'm going back today so I'll check today. Thanks
