I remember someone asking for a test monitor as all the ones they saw were well over $120 for something small.

Well here's one for $50 and it has speakers, I don't think the other one did. Though this doesn't have component, which could be a downer.

I have one that is similar that I spent about $150 on. It's been a GOD SEND. Money VERY WELL spent. If you don't have a test monitor of any kind, jump on it.

Absolutely. A friend has one about the same size, but it also has other usable inputs. I'm getting info on it from him and I'll post it here when I've got it.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I also have a battery powered test monitor/multi meter/ethernet tester from snap. Its composite. Between that and the hdmi monitor, I can pretty much trst anything. They greatly simplified testing equipment and systems. Especially equipment in a rack and testing displays with hdmi extenders.

Is that the Snap product with the 3 1/2" or so screen? I imagine that might not be easy to use for CCTV focus, but great for aiming and of course go/no go reporting. Can you really focus well with it?

Thanks.

I don't really use it for cams anymore now that we do ip cams, although if i use cams with the test port than i do use it. Its way easier using the monitor than trying tk focus using my phone and dealing with a delay. It can also power a camera so you can get up the ladder, install, aim and focus md be done.

I would rather have HD and a bigger screen for these old eyes.

It never occurred to me that you'd be setting up a camera, especially focus, using your phone, so that 3.5" screen was really small. For plain old video we use a 15" TV on fifteen feet of video cable.

For TVI cameras we use the Eyoyo 7" TV monitor, [Link: amazon.com], that can display TVI.
