We have a client with a gym with 2 levels:
level 1 has a TV and stereo speakers in the ceiling
level 2 has 3 tv's and stereo speakers in the ceiling
Right now we are using a pioneer av receiver and distributing video over component. Audio is LR and runs back up to the control4 matrix.
All TV's view or listen to the same sources at the same time, but you can turn on level 1 & level 2 independently.
The client wants to upgrade to hdmi. We are looking for the most economical way to do this. Normally we would use just add power, but it's we're trying to save money.
I'm thinking of using a low end marantz with LR pre out with a wyrestorm 1x4 splitter, and 4K baluns.
If anyone has a better suggestion, I'm open to all ideas.
Thanks.

Got an email from this company recently- http://www.miravue.comI know absolutely nothing about them and the "value" price isn't listed on the site. But if you're willing to use Wyrestorm then you're probably willing to roll the dice. Should you do so, please report back;)

I heard about Miravue from CEDIA last year and was immediately interested. I e-mailed them because I had a job on-deck that could have used their stuff, but I never heard back. It's kinda funny how you can go from being very excited about something to complete indifference when you get no response.

gym
You know who has a 2 story gym? A guy who should be paying at least as much as JAP costs to distribute video to 4K TV's. Did i read that right? Brand new 4K TV's in the 2 story gym? There is room in the budget for making this system reliable.

The customer probably bought these TV's (cheap) online and would be bummed if the video distribution costs more than the TV's.

HDMI distribution… Saving money on cheaper or untested electronics… Why does anybody even think about that?

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions. |

Why not use JAP 718AVP at the source and strip the analog out and then use JAP 508POE low cost 4K receivers at each display? If you are not using any L3 functions and only 1 source you can use a low cost POE Gigabit unmanaged switch as well

Does anyone really make a true 4K solution? My understanding is no one has a true 4K HDBaseT option. Can JAP do 18g?
