I read a complaint somewhere that the nickel plated RCA's don't install as easily as the gold plated. Was that just random, or do you find a difference between the two?

The answer is it depends on the device and how much money you want in your interconnects. There are three RCA end types...BC (nickel), ST (gold plated slightly smaller barrel than BC but slightly larger barrel than HD) and HD (gold plated and the smaller barrel of the three with a "finned" ring connector).

I have ran into a few (very few) instances where the BC and ST were too snug next to each other to remove easily due the the device's RCA jacks being too close together. You will also run into a problem with them with the first gen AppleTV (when is the last time you saw one of those in the wild though?). Overall I prefer the HD ends for the best fit and finish.

May I suggest getting in some samples of all three? When I first signed up the rep was more than happy to send me cable and ends samples, 100% free of charge. I'm sure the case would be the same now.

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

Is there a west coast rep?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
