Got tired of keeping WinXP around for programming the remote and they are getting beat up bad. Most of the charging pins have fallen out but no time to solder or put 'em back. I currently have the MX880. Not the MX880z. Is there a remote someone can recommend with hard, good sized keys, can learn and does RF and IR? I checked the URC line-up, but just wanted to see what user' thought of. I'd like it to be, but doesn't HAVE to be. No house control either, that will be at the next set of homes. Has anyone went from an MX-880z to another URC and is enjoying the experiencing. I'd welcome any input. Thanks and Happy New Year.

The MX990 is the most beautiful URC remote to date. You should see it light up. It is a keeper!

I thought we were going Earnest Hemingway there.

It was a good remote. It was a strong remote. A remote for a man, who'd seen things, experienced things, hard things, unsentimental. I'd changed many channels with it. The Hunting Channel, The War Channel. It never complained. None of us ever complained that year. Not that year. It was that kind of year, when the wind blew cold, and the rain fell hard, and the women fell harder and blew colder still. But we had the remote. No one could take that from us. It bonded us, brothers of common cause, turned outwards against an implacable enemy, ready to test ourselves, eager to test ourselves.

How about this. A good remote that the end user can program? Just like the Phillips Pronto line.

We haven't transitioned to 990's yet, but sell about 10-15 890's a month and its been a very solid remote for us the past 2 years once we transitioned away from the 980.

I love the 890 as well. I had to wait a while to sell out of my 980s before bringing in the first wave of 990s. Believe me, it sells itself. Side-by-side with the 890, it will win hands down. All you need to do is show it to the client.

We primarily sell the 890's and I have a couple in my own home(along with 3 980's,a 780,and a 5000).

The ONLY thing I DON'T like about the 890's is the dim button back
lighting.

Is the 990 better?

If it is,it would be worth the $50 up charge.
We got one in the other day but I've been too busy to check it out.
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Lol, nice

Except for the "cold blow" part. Brrrr.

My go-to is the 990, too.
