I need to get a good client two new TV's, a 55" & 65". What is your favorite current Sony model, Samsung or ?
Right now a Roku 4, Apple TV are going in. We plan on getting Directv 4K when the dust settles a bit.

I picked up a Sony 65-930D over the holidays, have been doing them over Samsung for control and quality. As most projects go, we fire them up- confirm functionality then pack up and move on. What I've noticed living with this unit is- light blooms on full black image and occasional dark corners on bright images. I haven't been able to tweak anything yet, but this is what I'm noticing off the bat. It's making me crazy, lol!

850D is best value by far, 930d slightly better.

You CANNOT go wrong with the 850d

Our warehouse manager opens, inspects, and updates firmware on every TV that we sell when it hits our door.

His opinion (having seen a TON of TV's) is that the 930d is better than the 850D, and is worth the price increase. The OLED and Z9 options are substantially better than both.

There isn't a 55" Z9D, so I'd buy the 930D if it was my money.

strongly second the recommendation to update firmware on Sony before install.

Z series looks spectacular.

yep the 930D is a strong value. Even better is the fact that for the most part the 850D series have been unobtainable for weeks

So that may mean that the 930D's may be hard to get soon......

Being that Sony just showed their OLED models, I'd wait for the new models to ship.

I know that's not the answer any of us ever want, but I think it's worth waiting for.
