YOU...Whoever you are that FRIED a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter PoE and then repackaged and returned it to AVAD as new/undamaged so that I could later discover that I'd been screwed by YOUR DISHONEST, DUMB*SS in the midst of a mission-critical, deadline-driven, commercial installation.

Karma is coming for YOU, LOSER!

Been there with both engine oil and anti freeze. Months a part but from the same store.

This is actually why I check the cap to make sure it's still sealed before input the oil jugs in the cart. I hated the fact that I bought them, went home, drained the old oil from my car. Then went to pour the "new" oil in, only to discovered that someone returned 5qt of used oil. Had to wait for someone to come home hours later.

Months later, same thing with the antifreeze jug. What was worse, they put used green stuff into a pink/orange antifreeze. Two totally different fluids.

It's easy to blame the person who returned the items, but don't forget. There are the employees who should've checked the items first before putting them back on a shelf as "new" or "ok for resale". There's more than one person involved here. The one who did the malicious intent and the dumbasses.

Ubiquiti products are packaged in such a way that you can't distinguish a return (for whatever reason) from a fresh one? Or... this was critical and had an imposing deadline and had not yet learned to look carefully? So sorry you had to learn this lesson.

I'm amazed at how we can be so pissed when something we know is critical and we don't check thoroughly. People return stuff. Even if it was in perfect condition, you should have known it was a return. I say this as one who has caught myself in the same condition. It's crap that I didn't check, but it's crappier that someone did this to you and crappiest that a vendor took a return and didn't AT LEAST pile it onto the B stock.

Damn right.

Yeah.

I ordered this in a rush. Outer packaging is pristine--It came in a larger carton with two Ubiquiti WAPs that are NOT defective/returns. I don't have time to open every item I receive to verify that contents are also pristine. I also don't like delivering opened/unsealed packages to clients, lest they become suspicious that I'm selling them used items.

AVAD should have caught this one...All docs were missing and power cord was sloppily bundled. Then again, I received a Tripp-Lite UPS in December that looked like it'd been dragged behind a truck for 500 miles and had a [previously affixed] "Defective/Damaged Return RMA" tag on it...

Is it really THAT difficult in the shipping department?

Ohh yeah. Get in line.

Just happened to me. What I thought was a DOA (well it was to me) bose feeespace 51 turned out to be a blown speaker that was returned. Guess where I ordered it from?

The BOse tape obviously had been cut, but I didn't think anything of it since my brother works at UPS and boxes get retapped all the time...how I found out about it was when I called AVAD up they said to call bose and they would RMA it...well when I called bose up and gave them the serial number they asked if I was such and such company. After a few questions more it was obvious what had happened. (AVAD and bose track the serial numbers) so called AVAD up and they of course apologized blah blah blah.

Still haven't gotten my credit yet. Funny, I haven't ordered from AVAD in years, then finally had a job where I had to match a previous installers speakers...of course it bites me in the end.

It's not just AVAD. Had the same with a Trendnet product a couple of weeks ago from ADI. No plastic wrap or documentation. Thankfully it wasn't defective as I was out of town and after hours for the install.

That sucks. Also another reason to have an inventory of all small electronics from routers, switches, emitters, surge protectors and so on.

FYI: Unlike the Edgerouter Lite, Ubiquiti apparently decided to begin using the Console port activity light as a power indicator in a recent firmware update for the Edgerouter PoE, which makes the unit appear to have a problem. I might have known this if any of the documentation was in the box. Based on Ubiquiti forum traffic, others have been flummoxed by this unfortunate decision.

That said, I'm not willing to risk function testing a dodgy "new" PoE router with all new WAPs and switches on a deadline. The adhesive feet were smeared off the bottom of it, no docs, no idea why it was returned...It's going back for a refund.

Had a TV with a scratch on it. Purchased from Avad. I called them to discuss and it turns out it was a return. They sent me a replacement.

Wow, a lot of Avad here. Another common theme is how many people have a bad experience with them, stop ordering, Avad never cares. They just keep doing business as usual.

AVAD is the absolute worst...any money (and it is very little) that goes there I feel that I have failed in some way,

I generally agree--AVAD has caused me lots of headaches over the past decade and I stopped using them altogether for a couple of years. At some point, I was forced to purchase some particular brand through them and encountered one of my all-time favorite industry contacts, Paul Hansen, in the Charlotte office. The guy is ON POINT and always takes care of me (even when the rest of AVAD works against him). Clearly, Paul cannot control which particular box the warehouse three states away pulls to ship me, but at least I know he'll make it right.

If only Paul Hansen had more control of the organization...And more disposable income...Listening AVAD?

No. They're not listening. They don't have a customer first attitude.

I'd guess there's $5 million annual business from guys here alone. All they have to do is open the "how did we fail them" log and ask for another chance to get it right. You're right Jrainy. The absolute worst.
