We're looking at an AVR-3806, which, yes, is ten years old. Its HDMI output is strange: We see yellow, red, and blue, but no shades of green. The receiver's menu, as well as graphics from a Sony Blu-ray (BDP-S350), look this way. Also, in addition to the yellow that's in the picture, it looks like the yellow parts of the image are blooming (to use an old CRT phrase).

Yeah, we're going to replace the receiver. I just wondered if you've seen this before.

We checked the Blu-ray straight into the TV through the forty-footish HDMI cable. It works fine, the image's good. We haven't messed with resolution at all, just plugged in and went wha?

Thanks.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Did you try using a different cable from the BD to the AVR?

Yes I've seen it. Never on a receiver that old though. Then again I'm not sure how much time I would invest in a piece that old

No. Once the Denon onscreen menu had this problem, we were done diving the universe.
