Please see the attached drawings. Looking for ideas on what others would do for front speakers as part of a 5.1 system. Lower level rec room. In-ceiling fronts are not an option as the trusses and duct work interfere. Fairly large room, that opens to a large bar, billiard area, and game area. Not a serious theater room, but more of a family room for watching games and movies. [Link: dropbox.com][Link: dropbox.com]I was thinking passive soundbar to match the TV but not sure which one. Open to new ideas and opinions of others.

A soundbar would be nice above the TV in that setup. Triad Leon HZ616 Goldenear supercinema XL Deftech mythos xtr5

I agree. I was thinking a passive three channel sound bar.

As the others have said, and custom soundbar on top of the TV would work perfectly. Leon looks the nicest, followed by Triad and Artison. Sonance has an option that is "custom-ish" that would work fine. For the money the Goldenear would probably sound the best, but I really think going custom would be worth it on a feature wall like that.

Agreed with the above. In my experience with Leon I'd say they don't sound terrific and not worth the money.
Triad and JAMES are good options. How big is the TV? Artison was mentioned, how about their L/R speakers? Wider sound stage than the sound bar. I did a pair of the Masterpiece L/R with Parasound 275s bridged on each channel, for what it is it sounded fantastic.

Use the best sounding and have a custom frame made for it.

Thanks everyone for the input. The TV is a 65" Samsung. Planning to power the system with a Yamaha RX-A860 receiver. I was leaning toward Leon. Always curious what other options are out there.
