Curious what your go to brand of wire is.

the jacket Just splits right off the wire. The building was 60+ degrees so wasn't a cold issue. I have never been so frustrated on a pre-wire.

Just curious.. was the jacket black? I had 60K+ feet of black from another vendor that the jacket would split with the lightest of pressure.

We use a mixture of Snap's wire and Honeywell from ADI. No issues other then the siamese from ADI does not like to separate when cold (probably true of most wire in the cold). And the Century Link guys told me not to use it because it falls apart outside in the sun/heat/cold, etc.

For some reason all our rough ins happen in either in the hottest month of the year or the coldest. Am I the only one with this problem?

We did order some wire from Windy City for a big job that we had the electricians wire for us. I was pretty impressed with it. We got the fancy cart and everything but have not ordered any since. I am guessing due to price. :\ Not my call.

I used gepco religiously

ICE for all everything A/V, Data. You can't go cheap on wire, you (usually) only have one shot (during a prewire) and do it right!!
Like S.B., they're close enough for free delivery to job site

We use Gepco DS401 for most balanced interconnects...Excellent cable. FYI: Belden just purchased Gepco...

We just use ICE as well. Great boxes that don't fall apart, they have all the 5 colors of cat cable we need, local and free delivery. Call and they have a pallet outside our door the next, can't beat that.

Yes, it was all black. Was your wire ICE? Or Belden?

Yes all the boxes we had issues with are black.

Neither, i wont put the name out on a public forum, but obviously snap buys from the same factory in china. I really prefer US made category cable, but we sell the low cost china stuff for temporary installations like trade shows where its used once and tossed.

Hi onetime.

Sorry for my delayed response as I am actually traveling in the field and meeting with dealers like yourself to learn about more ways SnapAV can improve our product line. I apologize for the issues you experienced and would like to speak with you directly to understand more. Please email me at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Jim Wilmoth

I use Snap & have only had issue with their blue cat5e. Seemed like the whole roll was pinched at the same spot where it was loaded in the box. They sent me a new box. It's only happened with blue winnow I don't use blue lol

Never mind. I thought you said wine.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

We've used Snap years. Used to use overpriced Windy City wire.

No issues aside from one box that was wound backwards or something. Ya, I need to get that year old box replaced lol.
