There are a number of short throw projectors at CES. Brightness and contrast suffer a bit, but installation is simple -- requiring only a small shelf.

don't get me wrong, I was not complaining about the installation of projectors (or looking for a solution for them). I was just pointing out that it would be nice if the transportation and installation of large TVs was as easy as installing the screen for a projector

Looking through this thread today, this made me think about conversations we have had in the shop about stupidly thin TVs. The TVs are thin, but then by the time you put them on a mount that has enough rough to just get power cords plugged in, cables connected, and HDMI extenders hidden, the thin tv is actually 3" to 4" off the wall. Especially given the limited bolt options packaged in mounts and that you usually have to use the longer bolts with spacers.

Then, I thought about, I don't remember the last time I used a flat mount. We always use a tilt mount to improve the viewing angle and help with any glare. i really wonder how great the viewing is on this wall paper tv.

And then the client decides the sound quality of the tv is horrible and wants to add a soundbar mounted below the tv.
Then you wind up with a display 4" out from the wall so the front of the screen and front of the soundbar are flush with each other.
Then the client decides they don't like that they can see the sides/back of the panel and the mount when they walk into the room and you wind up at a job cutting and shaping plastic filler plates to hide the mount.
Then the client complains that the job is taking too long.
I am a trained professional..... Do not attempt this stunt at home.

On a recent job we installed one of the LG OLED panels that has the folding base. The screen is literally the thickness of a pane of glass. So with the folding base, then the tilt mount, most of the TV is a good 6" off the wall with nothing to help hide cords.

I won't be happy until until my TV comes delivered in one of these.
