There seems to be a problem related to the bolt and minis right now. The minis will not let go of the tuner on the card in the Tivo Bolt, unless both are power recycled.

Send power off command and it will realease it. You can't do it from the remote, you have to send the power off command via IP (use the app if your control system isn't controlling these via IP) also when using these with C4 make sure you do a power off macro when the "room off" button is pressed. The built in driver will not turn off the TiVo. This whole "4 streams" bs is total BS. Feels like these new tivos are built off the old hardware with just a pretty new box (that looks stupid in a rack)

I fell into the TiVo is back use them BS a few months back. Have been nothing but problematic on the few jobs I did.

Since I'm a Comcast CXI member that part was very very smooth. But the deployment of them along with this tuner BS makes these things total crap. Let alone the HOURS it takes to update the damn things.

4 jobs recently and never again. These are seriously worse then the cable boxes Comcast peddles.

The ONLY thing these have going for them is the flexibility of using MoCa or a CAT5 jack if a coax isn't available.

No IP Control system on site.
do you have the TCP/IP command? I have the protocol document, but does not show a power off.

You have to assign the app to control a specific device. The app is generally pointed at the DVR. For android or Apple, it allows you to watch or DL content on the Tivo system.

after having done two systems in December I'm with 3PM on this. I jumped in and spec'd these systems only to find out about the 4 tuner limit the hard way. So far not impressed at all

I was done with TiVo when I learned the subscription went with the box and not the consumer. Box dies, time to pay again. Didn't sit too well with all those clients that paid for the lifetime TiVo subscription when their boxes died. Is this still the same shitty policy?

Yup!

In the case of Faster48 if his client had paid the $$$ for the lifetime subscription he would be SOL.

TiVo had their spot, they are best suited now to go sue everyone and make the UI. At least you have a fighting chance of having a working box and when it dies you didn't piss a bunch of money into the wind.

Guess their time came and went. The best DVR when cable boxes were lame. Now that cable and sat DVRs are better, they prob won't make it.

I never made money on Tivo. I had a few routine setups, but so many took forever with tech help assisting me. With cable cards sometime an issue, it was a loser for me. I want to like it, too.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Yup!

I can't believe they are able/allowed to get away with that policy. I would have thought they would have been sued over it, and lost by now :)

Yup. I wanted to like the Tivo alternative, but the beating I took on the jobs I tried to deploy were too much to take.
