The four diodes comment had to do with this:

No reason you cant make your own. I just had a boat trim tab control box have a relay fail. Found exact one for a dollar seventy but have to buy 50 dollars worth. So I took four SPDT auto relays wired up for voltage reversal, port and starboard bow up/down. 20 bucks. New relay box was 140.

And, as far back as the seventies, I set up relays to switch polarity... or something. Don't remember now. But the 4PDT was my friend.

You say the 150 mA from the Marantz should work. You didn't supply the relay's coil resistance, so I don't know. I know you can figure it out, though.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The Marantz could power one switcher, but not two we thought you were suggesting.

My trim tab controls are not in a neat little box yet. The original was a nice little condensation trapping box. Corroding the board and killing a relay. Mounted with wires facing down as instructions indicated. My new controls are rubber dipped relays after connections were made. I will be making a nice little box when my ABS arrives. Form is made.

I was talking about the Marantz being able to control the Niles piece. No I don't know if it'll switch my relay but I'm optimistic
My wife says I can't do sarcasm. She says I just sound like an a$$hole.

How much would you charge a client for this work and fabrication? Just curious. I could easily imagine $300.

If I were in the marine business I would charge 140 dollars for a new Control box and 160 dollars labor. You were right on with the 300. Have them bring vessel to me and keep it at the shop for 2 weeks.

Seeing as I am not in the marine business I would not being doing this fab for a customer. However, for myself I enjoy working on projects and always feel I can improve on many designs. This being one. So for 20bucks. Ok 30 with a big sheet of plastic leftover for future use I was able to repair boat and gain some personal satisfaction, have some fun and make a better and servicable at sea part should it ever fail.

In the electronics field I prefer a switcher as you desribed for a paying customer. But see nothing wrong with 20 minutes and a few parts to make if two switchers were needed. And I would note hesitate to charge for parts procurement, assembly and test. Customers are paying for opening and flattening of boxes. It takes time.
