Basing your opinion of how a speaker will perform because of how it looks is dumb. Do you judge a TV's picture quality on how the TV sounds?

Based on some of the comments here it looks like this might be the case.
When good enough is not good enough.

Ah. It took a lot of scrolling, but it's 14" x 17" x 23" and weighs 28 pounds.

Sigh. It's probably worth a listen.

Is it possible to put a 4500watt amp and speakers in this size of a cabinet? Or could the specs be a bit exaggerated?

Jay-Z and Beyonce are investors so they must be good.
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

My opinion is that Devialet is one of the new high-end audio brands that seems to be on the right path. Not sure about the Phantoms but their main line of amplifiers is quite good and gets good reviews:

We are setting up next week a pair of B&W 805D3 that we sold to a customer that already owns the 220Pro and it will surely sound magnificent.

I had the same reaction as all of you when I saw the Phantoms but when I heard them and also later when I heard their pro amps and read the reviews I have changed my mind. This does not mean that there is mass space in the market for a $3k sonos play5 competitor but on the other hand most CIs do not bother with Wilson, Sonus Faber, Macintosh, Classe, B&W e.t.c and these brands still continue to do as well as ever.
