Got an email from Nuvo stating that they are discontinuing the Music Port. We have installed many Nuvo Essentia and Grand Concerto systems with Music Ports and they have been very solid with few problems.

I know that Autonomic made the Music Port for Nuvo and wonder whether the recent purchase of Autonomic by Snap had something to do with this happening.
If you are going to do the job...why not do it the right way?

Anyone know if an Autonomic Mirage server will work with Nuvo Grand Concerto keypads or does it need special firmware to integrate?

This is to replace an old Nuvo Music Port server.

Thx.

I recently did some research and counldn't find a way.

Biggest, most obvious challenge was the res-232 connection between the concerto and the music server... the mps4 had a db-9 output, the mirage gear didn't. Plus the cost. Mirage isn't cheap.

What's wrong with you musicport? If the hard drive is dead then you've got a real problem. If it just won't boot up quite right, Nuvo can provide you a firmware file that you can load via a USB thumb drive (that saved one of my mps4's)

There is a flat fee retail option available, but Nuvo recommends against this as firmware updates for the server have been discontinued. Changes to music services could render your repaired server useless.

Nuvo offers some other options, call or email support.

My client can no longer sync his music.

So apparently, Music Sync for Windows 8 and 10 no longer work with since latest Windows OS updates, as per Nuvo tech support. Client is PC only, no Mac, so I thought of using Mirage MMS-2A in it's place.

So, I think it's time for an upgrade to Sonos which is my current go-to music solution.

I'm looking closely at HEOS but no Apple Music support is keeping me away for now...Same with Mirage Audio System. Deal breaker for some people.

Is it the regular mps4 or the mps4e?

I know the regular mps4 was a windows pc running windows 7. There's a little plastic cover on the back that covers a vga port. Hook it up to a monitor, add a keyboard and mouse and you have. a regular old PC(literally old). I wonder if you could copy and paste music directly into it.

Not sure if the mps4e was the same scenario.

Send me a message if you're interested in selling the mps4 that you have... we have a customer who might want to buy it as a backup.

Nuvo tech got back me today and said Mirage Server will not work with GC because it does not have Nuvoet chipset.
