I tried to help a client of an interior designer move from cable to DirecTV in their theater, which is currently controlled by RTI. Seemed simple enough, but after adding the new DTV codes the Pioneer VSX-44 no longer responded to any commands. Simple enough, grabbed a new codeset and switched the commands out, all good. The only issue is that I could not find a single Pioneer code that would allow me to switch the input to Game, BD, MHL, or the front HDMI port. Every codeset seemed to contain the SAT/CBL and DVD inputs, but not the other 4.

Does anyone have a codeset that they are confident works with the VSX-44 and can access all HDMI inputs discretely?

I would try other pioneer code sets that have the inputs that you are looking for. Most companies use the same. Not model specific.

I have tried every Pioneer codeset I could find, only a couple had any of the inputs that I was looking for (BD/Game/MHL/Aux) and those didn't work.

Even the generic "HDMI 1, HDMI2, etc." codes didn't work.

Thanks for the help though.

Check the Pioneer site- they have a great library of codes listed by model. I have come across some odd ball units so if the 44 isn't listed try something that looks close, like a 54 for example.

Almost always those slam-dunk easy jobs have a nasty gremlin;)

I emailed an RTI codeset that will work. Note that Pioneer has an IR [power ON + input] command. Use it.
