Putting together a bid for a guy. He had another company do a bid but they "did not listen to anything he said", so he called us. They had quoted a truaudio trunami system. I have not heard that one in particular but every in wall sub I have heard has been less than impressive.

I am looking for an option that is a "balanced" design as to eliminate it drastically reduce the vibrations that come with a lot of these products.

I did not see what the other place quoted for the truaudio piece, but MSRP is $1500 including the amp. Hoping to find something in that range. Thanks for the ideas.

I've done a bunch of Velodyne SC-600 subs which are around $1200 retail with the amp.  They use two opposing drivers with a pair of front facing radiators and produce decent results with little vibration.

What's the application? Theater or just a TV room, or house audio enhancement?

I tend to agree; I haven't heard an in-wall one that really sounded super good (that was a JL Audio, too, which was $$$. Their standalone Fathom line absolutely kills though!). I *was* however, pleasantly surprised at how good the stealth acoustic invisible sub sounded.

Artison. However, I think only the smaller model might fit in your budget.

Triad, inwall bronze 6 subwoofer. about $1300. Grill comes custom painted to match the wall color.

If you need more punch, the Silver 15 is awesome.

The application is a open family room....attached kitchen, dining, etc. Large area. Subwoofer was wired to a location no where near a corner so I know there will not be reference level output and client is not expecting that. I just want something that will be decent without shaking and rattling the walls. Subdue, Klipsch, TruAudio, Snap, all have dual 8" models around that price. I just have not heard any of them.

Velodyne stopped making subs I think? Not sure I want to get one from the internet with no ability for warranty/service down the road.

I think we may have a Triad collecting dust in the warehouse. I will check to see what it is exactly.

Cinema sub from speakercraft. Add whatever small amp that suits your budget.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

I put the Sunfire in the bid but could change it if needed. I like that it has the still bass technology to hopefully eliminate most of the vibrations. Their amp is spendy but has some nice DSP features with IR control which will come in handy.

Thanks for all the input. Keep it coming. One thing I will do is hook up the sub and test it in the location before cutting the hole in the wall. In case it needs to be moved.

Big fan if the Triad slim sub. They lowered the price by removing the dsp feature from the amp. Still available on larger amps.

Still the $1300. Sounds great compared to those dual 8" in walls.

The Sunfire claims to be vibration cancelling but I will tell you firsthand it still vibrates a ton. In a normal sheetrock wall, it will start popping screws in a matter of weeks. The only true vibration cancelling design I have ever seen work very well is the Paradigm in-wall and the Artison, but the Paradigm is better.
