I have a Pioneer Elite Pro-1120HD that has a "bad horizontal board" and is going to be repaired under warranty. This is the second screen that has gone bad (different issues). The only common link between the old and new screen is a media receiver cable. Has anyone ever seen a media cable kill a media receiver/plasma? What about a component signal from a crestron PVID???

Thoughts anyone?
thanks,
DG

I can't believe that a cable could cause problems like this without noticing problems before the TV dies. I would look more towards the electrical at the house (peaks and more common dips in the power). Low Voltage can do alot of damage to electronics.

I had a problem with the first Pioneer Elite i installed... The cable that came with it was bad, and replacing it solved the problem (we needed a longer cable, anyway).

The bad cable i had could have possibly caused problems down the road...

The other Pioneers (and Sharp- same units, different operating system) haven't had any problems at all
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.
