Yeah, I know, the fact that I can get a lot of channels doesn't mean that the LNB is working properly, or even that the problem still exists. I'm recording a program right now and don't want to stop that to check signal levels. Six locals and a handful of movie channels are working and that's good enough for now.
But they've got a whole new graphic that comes up. It's labeled 771 - DIRECTV Signal Loss and it has three illustrations below a short description. The three illustrations are Check Receiver Cables, Check for Dish Obstructions, and Contact Us.
You can hit Select and go through a troubleshooting procedure. All of this is new -- what I've seen before this has just been a dead channel and Error 771.
Has this been around for a long time and I've just never seen it?

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw |

Check the Coaxial cable. After troubleshoots failed. Came to find out that the squirrel chewed out about 3" of braid of the wire.
