I have one client that had their remotes programmed for older AppleTV's, and they upgraded the ATVs themselves. They informed me that there is an issue, when you fast forward or rewind, you cannot stop it from fast forwarding or rewinding. I discovered on a site visit that pressing the back arrow button will stop the rewinding or fast forwarding, and the content will play. I tested with a few streaming sources on the ATV, and they all reacted similarly.

I had another client that I programmed a remote for a couple weeks ago also with a new ATV, and it has the same issue (both ATV's are up to date). My question is, is this normal behavior? Is it a URC code issue?

Can you still learn your own codes in the new ATV's? I've only worked with one ATV4.

The Select/OK button that use to act as the Play/Pause button as well, no longer does on the ATV4... With most apps.

It would seem that, that the function of the Select/OK/Play/Pause is dependent on the app that it's in. And it's current version of said app.

Example would be the Netflix app. I've seen it when the button would work for all of those functions. But then an update came out for that app, from Netflix mind you, then all of sudden it will only be a Select/OK button.

I am using the IR codes from the ATV2/3 silver remote.

KOT says that, once again, these guys give hardly a half-thought to us and to integrated systems when they spin their webs.

It continually amazes me that these devices can be used in the most fantastic entertainment venues, but the manufacturers make them with the thought in mind that the client will use six remotes and have a plain old TV within a six-foot cable length from the system. We have a system with sixty feet from lens to screen....
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

If they cared, HDMI wouldn't exist.

Yep. Gives you a whole bunch of news codes over the stock codes as well. (Think discrete play and pause plus jump back and forward.)

I used an old DirecTivo remote to set the new codes and it works great.
