Yes, for PIP and when cable goes out, rarely, oh, also when the cable and local tv station are fighting over fees, LOL! I also have a two tuner HD OTA tuner on the network for viewing/recording local channels.

That's the answer. I was one of those people who did not realize Dish Network units have it.

The remote for the Hopper 3, which he's got, doesn't have any buttons for PIP, but the set of codes that was published here, and one of his older remotes for another unit, has those codes. I've implemented them and he's happy.

It's a Dish Network feature, not a TV feature.

Problem solved.

Like I said, you didn't provide all the info. If you mentioned the source, you could have had an answer within the first or second reply.
