The client has had this TV for about three months. He chose the model and bought it before I wired the system. He asked me today for picture in picture (PIP).

I can't find PIP via the menu using the remote. A search of the manual doesn't give the term "PIP" or "picture in picture." So that's clear... almost.

The one thing that bothers me is that a pdf search yields the word "picture" in many places, but also yields blank white spaces in the middle of the page, as well as highlighting some text that is not the word "picture" on entire pages that don't have the word. What the heck?

If you know this model, or know of a Vizio model that HAS got PIP, would you tell me how obvious it is? I don't want to be told later that I missed it!

Thanks.

Edit Oct 29: Solved: His Dish Network Hopper 3 has PIP using its multiple tuners. See Post 17.

It's not a TV feature, but the client didn't realize that and this is the first Dish Network system I've worked with.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Pip hasn't really been a feature since analog tvs.
Besides you would need two cable/dss boxes to make it happen

aftermarket box can do it for you, but I suspect a Vizio client won't spend the dough (over $1500 dealer) to make it work.

And, apparently in the same spirit, you chose not to mention what you think was missing!

You have the b-lls to come on here without the firmware version either? Lol. Really just assume it does not at this point and tell the customer. I doubt customer will ever find it if it did. The oem clicker does not have the button, it does not have the feature.

Did anyone ever really use PIP any way? I love client requests where the setup to make it happen takes longer than the amount of time the client will actually end up using the feature.

Well, that's the truth. Now, if I can just figure out what the hell Dish Network is talking about when they say "picture in picture." Maybe it's a Dish feature, not a TV feature.

I use PIP all the time when I'm watching football, I can tell when the commercials have ended and it's time to switch back to the game or watch two games at once. My couple of year old Samsung 65 inch has PIP, TV tuner only in window. I've used it for years on Sony's before that. I guess I'm the only one though, LOL!

Dish has had PIP as a feature on their dual+ tuner boxes for at least 5 or 6 years. Not many people probably realize it is even there.
