What gives here, I could have SWORE ive been able to select duel HDMI inputs for sonos/control4...did a firmware upgrade kill this?

When I select sonos i dont want it to switch from the "dvd" input to "cd" I just want to keep it on the DVD input but pull from the "CD optical" ...I know I cna do this for the "DVD input" but the problem is I dont want sonos to start playing while someone is using the navigator to turn on another zone...

I know I have done this using marantz, I have been using sony ES recievers for the past year and can easily do this.

Totally confused on exactly what you're asking....

Are you asking if you can watch something and listen to sonos at the same time using a Marantz Rx??

Anything Sonos gets a Sony Receiver. Anything high end and non Sonos gets Marantz.

Make sure no Video is assigned to the CD input. For example make sure one of the HDMI's or Comp V Inputs is not assigned to the CD. One Sony, when you select Listen on an input, it only switches the Audio when you select a "Listen" input. So easy :)

I know!! This is the first Marantz I have done in over a year! I switched to somehow es and haven't looked back. My client on this job specifically asked for Marantz, I do still have a soft spot for Marantz so didn't fight him too much on it. It's stupid easy on Sonys and I did miss a lot of the features I have grown to love about ES avrs

Press the Options button within your audio source (CD) and you can assign a video source. I think you can do it on an audio only input, if not, put Sonos on media player or aux.

We use the Marantz high end stuff for just dedicated theaters. Everything else gets ES. I wish ES would do separates again. Anyone remember those :)

Yep. St. Louis' only Sony only store. It was called Broad Brother's TV/Video. I was the first CI for that TV repair shop/ little TV display store. It was a one of a kind Heaven. The separates were tits but the only one I did for a client the amp eventually died, may have been lightning. Preamp is still going strong I see it from time to time. Substituted an old Integra DD just for its amplifier section I had sitting out in the garage. Running like a champ to this day.

I was literally installing that system on 9/11
