We have a few customers with TVi (720p on coax) cameras connected to TVi hard drive recorders. A couple of these are Securititronix brand using their "STGO" ap. One of these is a Dahua using the "idmsshd" ap. All 3 are located on Fire Island where access to high speed Internet required us to install Exede satellite Internet. Dahua makes the Securititronix product and their STGO app looks identical to idmsshd app after its opened.

The 2 customers with Securititronix recorders have been remotely viewable on my ipad without issue regardless of whether I connect via wifi or ATT cell service. Plus these customers are not complaining of connecting issues. The Dahua customer has been a nightmare to remotely connect to. I am only able to connect 10 % of the time thru ATT cell, not able thru cable wifi at my office, and Customer not able to connect at all. We have already replaced the Dahua recorder once when hard drive locked up but still having same issue with new unit.

All of these units are configured to Internet via P2P. Although, the Dahua operates correctly through APP when configured for local network viewing via IP settings in APP. We use a fixed IP, outside DHCP range for all of these systems.

The main difference is that the 2 systems that work well are small networks with Exede supplied Wifi routers connected to th camera system, DirecTV, and wireless devices surfing the internet. Where as the system giving us trouble has a much larger network that has: a 16 port Netgear gigabit POE switch for Niles key pads and Luxul WAPs, a 24 port Luxul NON-POE gigabit switch connecting the Directv - Niles Auriel stereo- Sonos - Smart TVs - etc, and a basic D-Link 100meg wifi router connected to the Exede router on the WAN port. With its 4 LAN ports connected to: the Dahua CCTV recorder, the 16 port POE switch, the 24 port switch, and a Panamax Blue Bolt 10 outlet power center.

The Exede wifi router was not available when the Internet was installed last year. Thus, customer has Exede modem with the separate D-Link wifi router.

Internet continual quality and stability has been verified multiple times through customer experience, Exede eSVT web site, and BlueBolt emails that have only indicated loss of connectivity 6 times in 4 mos for up to an hour max.

Therefore, I must ask:

* Has anyone had much experience with this APP? If so, are you having many connectivity issues? Also, any issues with this APP after latest iOS upgrade?
** What's been your experience using CCTV over Exede? I do see the lag or delay in response but more interested in other issues seen.
*** Should I replace the basic D-Link 100meg wifi router with a Giga unit?
**** Any other settings we should check? Such as ports or?

I have heard that P2P with Dahua products is not reliable from someone that sells the product and provides tech support for it.

Thanks for your replies.

I guess i can try ddns for this. More reliable than P2P? What's everyone else using these days?

Problematic system is using a d-link (not a netgear) which is 100meg and not a gig router. I thinking its more of a bandwidth issue than a brand thing. I going out to site tomorrow and try a Luxul Gigabit router to see if any better
