I have to recommend an alarm company to a client of mine. Who is currently a good choice for Brooklyn? Wi-Fi and networking are Ubiquity and every room has at least 3 Cat6 but the window/door/garage sensors will have to be wireless. Remote capability on an iDevice is a must.

I would partner with a local company with a good reputation. If the partnership works out, they will send you all the Audio/Video Jobs and you send them the Alarm. I would not use the national companies. Use Local Pro's

With the nationals it's a crap shoot on the quality you will receive. If you have a drivers license and no murder convictions, you're hired!

No, just iPads/iPhones for remote monitoring.

And they'll give them a handful of tools they have never seen/don't know how to use and put 'em to work!
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

I had the opposite experience with local alarm companies. I'd refer them all my alarm work and they would try to steal my A/V work from those clients. So, I started using the large companies that stay in their lane.

There are very few alarm companies that do Alarm and Audio Video at a high level. I know of about 3 in our entire state, One of them is us. Do your research. Set up a meeting with a solid local alarm company that stays in their lane. Most of them will run a HDMI and some speaker wire but they hate doing it. They are looking for someone to handle that. Meet with the manager and get an agreement on paper.

Go visit several of them. When you are in a pinch, You will be glad you have a local pro to call. I already been exactly where you are at.

I work primarily in Manhattan and rarely get requests for alarm systems. I just need to recommend a good alarm company for a client in Brooklyn. I would prefer a national company; out of the big guys(ADT;Tyco etc.) which one is the one to go with?
